I usually have two types of clients....the first is the one who knows they do not want to make their t-shirt quilt and are happy to have me do it....the other is the client that tried on their own because they have a sewing machine and now I fix what was started and complete it for them. (Note, this client ends up paying more due to me having to redo what has been done).
I get it, you have some sewing knowledge and a sewing machine, you want to tackle this on your own. What I have that makes a difference is the experience, the tools, and the right equipment to complete this one of a kind memory keepsake that you can actually use!
Let me start by saying I have two decades of experience of piecing, cutting, and using the tools that I have. I have searched for the just right products, methods, and machines to make a masterpiece for you that blends beauty and durability. The investments I have made in honing my skill and machinery pays off greatly when your finished product is revealed! Many tears have been shed in my living room - and honestly that is my favorite part!
The finished product that you receive after you hand me a pile of t-shirts is a one of a kind work of art that is machine washable and meant to be used and enjoyed! Once shirts are cut and bound and tried to put together, the integrity of the material has broken down and the repair is adequate but not as great as if I had all the pieces to start with. Besides, your time is valuable for you to do what you know and love....your passion and skill set is uniquely yours.
It is definitely an investment! On the next blog post, I will talk about pricing and why it may seem expensive but completely worth the money!
