Whole Cloth Quilts

I have had several requests for these lately and wanted to share what a whole cloth quilt is and how it can be a great gift.

What Is A Whole Cloth Quilt?

A whole cloth quilt is a quilt made from one piece of fabric on the front and one on the back, digitally stitched together with a design with batting and binding. The big difference with this type of quilt is that there is no piecing, therefore faster to make.

Sounds Boring, How Is This A Great Gift?

I'm so glad you asked! The great thing about these quilts is the ability to match it easily to any color scheme or theme the recipient might be interested in. For example, a graduation gift for graduates might be the theme of their school or the colors of their school. You could translate this over into any particular style or interest, the possibilities are endless! Currently, I have been making several collegiate gifts for particular Universities.

But wait, there's more. While traditional quilts are made from cotton on front and back, I made these whole cloth quilts with cotton on one side and minky on the other. This gives the quilt an elevated look as well as an element of cozy! Who does not love a cozy quilt?

Who Can This Be Gifted To?

As I mentioned earlier, I have been doing a ton of these for college gifts. However, the possibilities are endless...you could use colors or themes from your favorite sports team (think NFL, MLB, NHL, really any team!) for all those sports loving people in your life. This can also be a great baby gift or wedding gift that is a little less expensive than a custom baby quilt or pieced quilt.

I have had realtors reach out to me to use these as thank you / housewarming gifts for their clients. It is a way to give a personal touch when you don't know exactly what a person loves.
